new audio system
So I finally got around to buying myself a present in honor of my promotion to Senior Technical Admin back in August (why, yes, I like to procrastinate). I bought an iSymphony M1. That's an iPod sticking out of the top. It plays most iPod models through the dock on the top, and also has a USB port that I can stick my iPod Shuffle into as well as any other USB device that contains digital audio files. There's also a CD player, AM/FM tuner, and clock radio.
Until I made this purchase, I was still using an old sound system that I had bought about eight years before when it was the bottom-of-the-line (cheap) model.
The new iSymphony should be much more fun. I had considered getting something that just played my iPod on speakers but then I decided, why should I have two audio devices in the living room when I can have just one that does everything.
This should be fun to play with!

Yeah, it's really cool. It turns out that it can also play mp3 and Windows Media files on CD-R/CD-RW and Flash memory devices, and it probably can do several other things I haven't figured out yet.
It's significantly smaller than my previous audio system, which was pretty large.
The best thing is that it only cost $185 including tax :-D
