Number one with a bullet
On the day I was born, the number one song was "Tie a Yellow Ribbon Round the Old Oak Tree" by Tony Orlando and Dawn.
OMG. I'm going to cheat and pick the song that hit number one two days later: "You Are the Sunshine of My Life" by Stevie Wonder. Much better choice!
On my 21st birthday, the number one song was "The Sign" by Ace of Base, which I've never heard. I had already stopped listening to Top 40 radio by then.

I actually owned the tape of Ace of Base that had "The Sign" on it ;) I recently ripped the album (E had the CD) so I could hear them again, lol! I associate jump roping with them because my littlest sister was very into jump roping and it was such a hyper album that it worked well :)
At that point in my life I was into grunge and alternative music. But maybe I'll look up this song just to hear it.
